Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced mason and mason tender to join our team. You will be responsible for building and repairing surfaces and structures made of bricks, stones, concrete, and other materials. You will also assist the mason in performing various manual labor tasks such as mixing and transporting mortar, fetching tools and materials, and cleaning up debris and rubbish.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform masonry work according to plans and specifications
  • Measure, cut, and lay bricks, stones, concrete blocks, tiles, or other materials using tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels
  • Apply mortar or grout between layers of materials or fill joints
  • Erect scaffolding or ladders as needed
  • Collaborate with other masons, tenders, and supervisors to complete projects
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with building components and equipment
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings and build in compliance with local code standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant work experience as a mason or mason tender
  • Proficient in using power and hand tools, such as saws, drills, mixers, and fasteners
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and building codes
  • Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to perform manual tasks
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Salary: 

  • $22.00 - $33.00 per hour
