Concrete Former – Shorewood

We are looking for a skilled and experienced concrete forming to join our team. You will be responsible for designing and building forms, pouring concrete, then spreading and smoothing it using trowels or other tools. You will also perform various tasks such as setting up the forms, reinforcing the concrete with wire mesh, molding expansion joints and edges, applying stains or colors to finish the concrete, and applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform concrete forming work according to plans and specifications
• Measure, cut, and assemble wooden or metal forms for pouring concrete
• Erect scaffolding or ladders as needed
• Collaborate with other carpenters, masons, and supervisors to complete projects
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with building components and equipment
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings and build in compliance with local code standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or relevant work experience as a concrete forming
• Proficient in using power and hand tools, such as saws, drills, mixers, and fasteners
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Knowledge of concrete forming techniques, materials, and building codes
• Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to perform manual tasks
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Salary: 

• $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
